There lots of ways to sharpen edge tools, but the Kalamazoo Belt Sander does an impressive job in just a couple of minutes. You can also sand and shape many kinds of materials on the 1 inch wide belt surface, including metal, wood, plastics and composites. Bolt it down or move it around as needed. It weighs just 32 pounds, so it is portable, but it is very well built. Spring tensioned rollers maintain consistent belt tension and tracking. Chisels, knives and other tools sharpen up nicely on the 42 inch long Aluminum Oxide belt that comes with the unit, and you can change and track belts in about 30 seconds. Adjustable 3inch x 3 inch tilt table / tool rest, and a hefty 1/3 HP 115 volt motor, single phase, 1725 rpm. On / off switch, 8-feet of cord.
